We sponsor Key Clubs at Waynesboro
High School, Stuarts Draft High School, and Fishburne Military
Academy.
A past Key Club District Lt. Governor is a member of the
Waynesboro High School Key Club.
The Fishburne Military Academy Key Club has won several
district Key Club awards.We have re-started a Builder's Club
at Kate Collins Middle School.
Our Young Children, Priority 1
program has teamed with the local Head Start for two projects:
First, our Kiwanians participate in the reading program,
reading stories to children once a week.
Second, Waynesboro Kiwanis Club and Head Start have developed
a dental awareness (education) and treatment program for Head
Start preschoolers at Augusta Free Clinic. The club has
received a grants from the Capital District and Kiwanis
International to provide more resources (medical personnel) to
extend this program to children of low income families in
Augusta and Highland Counties. Our Child ID program, providing
fingerprinting and ID of preschool, and now kindergarten
students in the Waynesboro Public School System continues. |
